Is Pakistan safe for tourists?
The Answer is Yes. Pakistan, known as the land of the
genuine is seen in different contexts around different countries in the world.
The global narrative has always seen Pakistan as a third world country, which
isn't far from the truth.
However, Pakistan holds one secret
weapon, that not many other countries in the world have to offer. You ask, what
it is? Well, if you really want to know, you don't have to hear about it - you
have to see it. Home to some of the most sensational, awe-inspiring and
astonishing sceneries in the world, Pakistan is a country gifted with beautiful
landscapes.
From the highest of mountains to the
lowest of valleys, from plateaus to rivers, from greens to the browns - we have
it all. If that is the case, why is Pakistan's tourism still not
developed? The answer, lies in the lack of ownership, in the past.
As of recent, however, the game has
changed altogether. Ever since the new government under the leadership of
famous cricketer, Imran Khan took charge, the work on tourism in
Pakistan started. From the billion tree tsunami initiative to turning
government-owned-houses such as the PM and CM Houses into resorts - the change
is being welcomed.
Pakistan's tourism is finally seeing glimmers of light after dozens of
world-renowned travel vloggers/bloggers visited the country and urged others to
visit the country which is home to not just beautiful sights, but some of the
most genuine and caring people in the world.
Recently, travel vlogger Drew Binsky
visited Pakistan and after his visit, he came out with a video titled 'WHY IS
EVERYTHING FREE IN PAKISTAN?' - a video, that has since got millions of views
and thousands of comments from people around the world, stating how they wanted
to visit Pakistan and revive its tourism.
In the video, Drew Binsky goes to
many different cities, buys many different eating and drinking items, even
traditional local goodies as souvenirs. All his purchases had one thing in
common, which was that nobody would take money from him, and give all the stuff
as gifts. Pakistan's tourism might not be flourishing at the moment,
but the people here have the BIGGEST hearts!
Tourism in Pakistan is not dead, it never was. However, to survive in the 21st
century, not being a strong economy, Pakistan needs tourism. Backpackers from
different countries of the world, just traveling to Pakistan, enjoying the
tourism here, visiting different locations and breathing a sigh of relief,
thanking God for the beauty bestowed upon this land.
Apart from Drew, travel vloggers such
as Eva Zu Beck, Mark Wiens, The Food Ranger, and Rosie Gabrielle also visited
Pakistan recently, working closely with the Ministry of Tourism to
kickstart Pakistan tourism plans.
With every video that ends up on the
internet, tourists from all over the world show interest in visiting Pakistan -
going to Hunza, Gilgit, Neelam Valley, Ziarat in Balochistan, Ranikot Fort in
Sindh, Murree, Patriata, Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi and what not!! Even the
smallest of cities spark the most massive interest in tourism.
Apart from the cheap flights to
Pakistan, cheap and mouthwatering food is also one of the perks tourists get
here. If you're into hippie culture, Pakistan has a lot of offer on that end as
well, in terms of tourism - the greens and browns, ladies and gentlemen.
So one asks, why cannot
Pakistan become the next hub of tourism? Why can't Pakistan's
tourism be one of the best in the world? And the answer is, of course,
it can be, and soon, it WILL be. Tourism in Pakistan is about
to flourish and reach new heights soon, and if you want to be a part of it,
grab your tickets and take a trip to this wonderland created by God Almighty
himself!
